Priorities as County Clerk

1. Continue to Improve Record Accessibility, Archiving, and Digital Controls

Build on the strong record-management practices already in place by continuing to enhance how official records are organized, preserved, and accessed, while strengthening digital systems and internal safeguards.

2. Bring Clerk Services Closer to the Community.

Expand outreach stations, mobile services, workshops, and improved online tools so families, seniors, businesses, schools, and new residents can easily access county services without long drives, long lines, or confusion.

3. Fiscal Responsibility & Strong Internal Controls

Apply proven audit and internal-control methods to reduce waste, improve accuracy, enhance security, and protect taxpayer dollars.

4. Modernize Responsibly with IT and AI Tools

Leverage modern technology—including appropriate AI tools to streamline services, improve accuracy, efficiency, and service delivery, reduce errors, enhance document search capabilities, digitize archives, and give residents faster, easier access to the records they need.

5. Continue the Office’s Strong Legacy of Professionalism & Customer Service

Recognize and continue the excellent customer-service culture established by County Clerk Laura Richard and her dedicated staff, building on their strong work by maintaining high service standards, expanding customer-friendly processes, and ensuring every resident receives timely, respectful, and efficient support.
